Checking Best Management Practices

This Code can be used to check that best management practices for nutrient budgeting and nutrient management planning are being followed. Requirements for each process may be set by a Regional Council. 

For example, where fertiliser application over a certain level requires a nutrient budget and/or nutrient management plan to be undertaken.

This Code assists land managers, alone or with the help of a fertiliser consultant, to follow the steps that may be required by a Regional Council in a specific situation.

Requirements may include:

The Fertiliser Association of New Zealand and Dairy NZ funded development of the Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme (NMACP). This industry-wide certification aims to ensure that advisers have the learning, experience and capability to give sound nutrient advice.
