New Zealand’s reputation as a quality food producer is growing.
The Fertiliser Association of New Zealand promotes and encourages responsible and scientifically-based nutrient management.
Good clover is essential to support healthy pasture. Research on the importance of molybdenum in pasture legumes dates back to the 1950s, with further investigation and recommendations arising in the 1980s. This review collates the previous research results on the molybdenum requirements. It clearly describes molybdenum availability and management in different soil orders and soil pH, and its relationship to clover nitrogen levels and copper interactions. The review includes recommendations for diagnosis and optimal rate and frequency for applications of molybdenum, where required.
The Fertiliser Association of New Zealand and Dairy NZ funded development of the Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme (NMACP). This industry-wide certification aims to ensure that advisers have the learning, experience and capability to give sound nutrient advice.
